Lois Lane and Clark Kent just got their boss: Laurence Fishburne will play Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in Man of Steel, we have learned.

White has traditionally been an old white man who was a hard-charging, old fashioned newspaperman, who relies on his ace reporters, Clark and Lois, to get the big scoop. Jackie Cooper played White in the Christopher Reeve-era Superman films, and Frank Langella took on the role in director Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns in 2006... This is about the only decent casting in this movie thus far.

Are fans really going to boycott the new DCU Reboot?

If you follow the group "Boycott the DC Reboot" on facebook you would think that it might happen! As you know the DCU is being rebooted after the flashpoint, and they are restarting Beginning on Aug. 31, every major DC comic will be going back to issue #1. Major characters' costumes will be altered, their backstories changed and the entire DC universe will never be the same.

According to DC's press release:

"This year, change is in the air at DC Comics. On Wednesday, August 31st, DC Comics will launch a historic renumbering of the entire DC Universe line of comic books with 52 first issues, including the release of JUSTICE LEAGUE by NEW YORK TIMES bestselling writer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and bestselling artist and DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee.

The publication of JUSTICE LEAGUE issue 1 will launch day-and-date digital publishing for all these ongoing titles, making DC Comics the first of the two major American publishers to release all of its superhero comic book titles digitally the same day as in print.

Big words. But why now? What's the use? And is this causing fans to actually boycott the DCU?

Why they have the right to do this to us. The "MAN" thinks is going to make them money,but we know its a big FU to our face. We should not take this BS. We should fight. I know what you guys are going to say you will not win. Its a lost cause. You know your maybe right, but I want to see if I can do something about this.

But when looking around I found that this isn't the only group! There are others like... "Boycott Starting Over DC Comics" and "The Reboot? WTF?" so this leads me to ask the question! Will this change the minds at the heads of the DCU/WB? Or will sales themselves start to change their minds? If the later is what might change their minds then the 30% decrees in sales since the reboot was announced might be cause for concern.

In all honesty this reboot is not needed, and it's stupid... You want to make these characters more relevant? Or you want the readers to buy more comics? Well here is a simple solution. Put out better quality material.

But honestly nobody wants to see Action Comics rebooted to number 1 again! There can only be one number 1, and this is a big mistake by the DCU. The backlash it's having should tell them that the fans don't want this reboot.

Let's hope they listen to the fans for once... lol As I type that I laugh because they will never listen to the fans.

As far as Superman, the character is not a hard one to portray, but god damn Tom Welling definitely looks like Superman should. It was a long hunt. After rumors of "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm and "True Blood" star Joe Manganiello stepping into the role of Superman, it's been confirmed by Warner Bros. that British thesp Henry Cavill will be the new Son of Krypton.
As we reported back in November, the studios were searching for thesps between 28 and 32 years of age and whoever they chose would probably be from a TV series or a relative unknown ala prior Men of Steel Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh.

Ladies and gents, meet 28 year-old Henry Cavill, star of "The Tudors" on Showtime and the upcoming "Immortals," opening this fall.

DC COMICS Can Henry Cavill fill the shoes of The Man of Steel?

The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, who stated in a press release, "In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. It will be written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

VANCOUVER — Superman may be flying into Vancouver next summer. Then again, he may not.
A media report surfaced Friday that the latest film about the Man of Steel will be shot here. This is a spin off the fact that the movie will be directed by Zack Snyder, who has worked here before.
But Susan Croome of the B.C. Film Commission says it hasn’t been nailed down just yet.

“I haven’t had any confirmation that Superman is green-lit for Vancouver in 2011,” said Croome, just back in town after some meetings in Los Angeles.
“We do know that Zack Snyder had a really great experience here on The Watchmen and Sucker Punch, and we’re hopeful the experience he had in the past will lead to new productions.”

Peter Leitch of Mammoth and North Shore Studios said he couldn’t confirm Superman, either.

“It’s difficult to talk about movies like that specifically, because we never know 100-per-cent if they’re coming here,” said Leitch, who is also chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of B.C.

“We’re pretty comfortable that Zack Snyder’s [next] movie is coming here, but there are factors in all these productions which delay them, or for whatever reason they change their mind and do something differently...until they’re on the ground here and working and we know they’re here, there’s no certainty. It gets a little bit awkward when we talk about specific projects like that.”

Whether Superman comes here or not, 2011 is looking promising for the B.C. film industry. Stars like Tom Cruise, Liam Neeson and Kate Beckinsale are all slated to be working in town in the new year.

Cruise is here for the latest Mission Impossible movie, Aries. Neeson will be shooting The Grey, a thriller from Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company. Beckinsale will be here for Underworld 4.

An Alvin and The Chipmunks movie, Chipmunked, will also be shooting here, along with the sci-fi movie Apollo 18, a Weinstein company vehicle.

It’s directed by Gonzalez Lopez-Gallego, and is rumoured to be based on “found footage” of a secret outer space mission where astronauts encountered space aliens.

“The big studio facilities here are all really busy,” said Leitch. “In fact we’re turning away work.”

The latest installment of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, has been filming in New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro, but will return to the Lower Mainland for shooting in late February.

The film is apparently being split into two parts, one to be released in November 2011, one to be released in November 2012.

Smallville Shocker! Star Guilty in 'Hillbilly Heroin'-Trafficking Ring

Sam Jones III just went from Smallville to guilty town.
The actor, best known as Clark Kent's former buddy on the long-running Superman series, today pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills.

So how did he go from small-screen good guy to a drug trafficker?

Jones, 27, was busted at his Canoga Park, Calif., home last year for allegedly trying to sling the painkiller otherwise known as "hillbilly heroin."

Today, he pleaded guilty as a coconspirator in the drug ring, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The feds arrested him after determining he was the "Hollywood connection" involved in the ring's illegal purchasing and distributing the drugs.

Jones faces up to 20 years in federal prison. His sentencing is set for June 22nd.

Jones was arrested by the DEA back in October at his home in L.A. after meeting with an undercover agent who was posing as an Oxycodone supplier. Jones was part of a group planning to purchase and distribute 10,000 Oxycodone pills.

The DEA seized 586 pounds of marijuana and 10,000 fake Oxycodone tablets, which the defendants believed were real. Jones has been described as the group's "Hollywood connection".

He posted $100,000 in property and $20,000 cash.

A new Superman movie is finally close to actually happening, with word coming today on when and where director Zack Snyderplans on shooting the film.

The Globe and Mail has the news that the production appears to be headed to Vancouver in the summer of 2011.

"[Zack Snyder's] next feature's coming here," said Peter Leitch, chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios.

Leitch would not specifically name the Man of Steel project as the film in question, though obviously that's what Snyder is doing next -- and a source for the paper confirms the news.

By the way, Superman Returns was shot in Australia and the original Christopher Reeve film was shot in England, New York City and Alberta, Canada (for the Smallville scenes)

And do we remember boys, and girls what show shoots in Vancouver which wraps production on it's 10th and final season before next summer? That's right SMALLVILLE!!!

Does this mean anything when it comes to us getting Tom Welling in the role? Perhaps or perhaps not. Only time will tell but it sure is shaping up in his favor.

Storyline is about a Superman who's struggling with being Superman, and he's in his "early days" in the suit, and also that they are going for a 32 to mid 30's actor.

Tom Welling fits all those bills to a T.... Or an \S/ :)

Either way the fans have spoken time, and time again on who we want to see in the role, and Tom Welling is that person, and with the show wrapping production for good next Summer would fit perfect because they could use all the sets which are already in place which would save the production millions!!! Not like how Singerman Returns had to spend millions on building a new farm setting, and the entire cities of Metropolis, and Smallville.

After that movie flopped the studio wants to make money from this next project, and want to save money on the production as much as possible while still giving the fans the best movie possible.

Keep your fingers crossed...

True Blood‘s Manganiello may play Superman

As first reported by Jamie and Peter over at TMT “True Blood” Lycanthrope Joe Maganiello was pursuing the main role in Zack Snyder’s new “Superman”. While not my top choice (Tom Welling is my number 1 choice) he has the frame, the dark complexion, the good looks, the size. But anyway, just how interested would Warner Bros and Snyder be in casting this relative unknown as the new Man of Steel? Had they even heard his cries to be considered? They did last time with BJ and that failed big time... It would make more sense to cast Tom Welling who's the same age, size, and is widely known, and accepted as this generations Superman.

Makes no sense to cast anyone but Tom Welling honestly but we will wait, and see how this casting pans out.

reported earlier that Manganiello appeared on a panel at EyeCon this weekend and confirmed there had been “talks” of some sort between he and the Super-crew.
Manganiello was quick to update his Twitter account with clarification – he isn’t actually in “negotiations” but there’s ‘something’ going on. , “Just to be clear… as of today, I am not ‘negotiating’ to play SuperMan …but keep your fingers crossed and thanks for the wishful thinking!”
In other words, the actor has met with Snyder and Warner Bros about playing the role. That likely also means that so have a dozen or more other young bucks, including Brandon Routh (who played the role in “Superman Returns”), Tom Welling (who plays Clark Kent on “Smallville”), Scott Porter (who played Jason Street on “Friday Night Light”), and – maybe? – Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”).

Manganiello is great as Alcide on “True Blood”, and he fit the part of Flash Thompson perfectly in the “Spider-Man” movies, but is he Superman?

I see there’s a swell of support for Manganiello on the internet (though a couple have pointed out that the guy’s “big nose” might cost him the job) but there’s just as many campaigning to have Routh reinstated.

But neither compare to the fans pushing for Tom Welling to be given the role on the big screen as he's won every major poll ever put out with him on it, and even won a EW.com poll!

As well as this Soda Heads poll which ends on Jan 1st Tom Welling is clearly the fan favorite.

Will Batman Make an Appearance in the Superman Movie?

A British newspaper, and Snyder talk more about him getting the job, working with Chris Nolan, Batman vs. Superman, it's association to past movies and the rumoured $175 million budget...

You’re directing the next Superman movie: that’s quite a gig. How do you feel about taking on the superhero that everyone loves?

It’s very exciting. Do I feel responsible? Look, as a fan, I want to make it awesome, so in that way I feel responsible. There’s an amazing film in there to be had, and I’m excited to get at it.

You’re working with Christopher Nolan, director of the last two Batman films. Is there a conflict of interest there? Batman vs Superman?

He is a generous and amazing talent and as a producer super-supportive even in just the few weeks we’ve been talking about it.

What can you say about it at this stage?

Nothing. It’s very early in the process and it’s going to be famously guarded. So there’s very little to be said other than I’m a huge fan and I’m excited to get started on this.

It’s going to be a reboot of the franchise...

In the sense that it doesn’t really owe anything to what’s happened before cinematically.

And apparently you’re getting $175 million to play with...

I have no idea. Nobody has said anything to me about that, but I’ll quote that at them. It’s a good place to start in the negotiations.

What's most interesting about this interview is the fact that Snyder says, "we’ve been talking about it" when asked about Superman vs. Batman. Ok I know my top choice is Tom Welling, and I HATED Singerman Returns.

I know people who know Brandon Routh, and know he's a very nice guy, and all that jazz but guess what? The movies he's done have all sucked, and his version of a water down Reeve Superman was horrific.

I never want to see him in another Superman movie as long as I live, and will boycott the movie if he's indeed hired for the role.

So that's how I feel about Brandon Routh, and his version of Singer...Superman.

Tom Welling is my top choice because he simply embodies the character like no actor I have ever seen since Chris Reeve.

He is this generations Superman, and after 10 seasons of playing Clark Kent on Smallville it's time the fans who stayed loyal, and love the show are rewarded with a big screen send off where we get to see our generations Superman actually take flight, and in a movie directed by Zack Snyder, and produced by Chris Nolan.

How can we go wrong if we the fans are given that trio of Nolan/Snyder/Welling? That is pure boxoffice gold folks.

I know I will see this movie 10 times in theaters myself... Anyway now you guys pick who would you like to see in the movie?

Zack Snyder Directing Superman: Man of Steel "Right After Sucker Punch"

Deadline.com has done it again with another exclusive revolving around the DC movieverse: according to the site, Zack Snyder will be directing Man of Steel. In a just-posted UPDATE, Snyder himself comments on the situation.

UPDATE: Deadline spoke with Zack Snyder, who confirms that as soon as he completes post on Sucker Punch, he'll move right into the Man of Steel. "I've been a big fan of the character for a long time, he's definitely the king of all superheroes, he's the one," Snyder told Deadline. "It's early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I've always felt he was kind of awesome. I'll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it."

Says Deadline, "Zack Snyder has been chosen to direct the new installment of Superman He was on my short list of directors that the studio was considering and producers Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas met with. Snyder is an interesting choice. He is a cornerstone filmmaker for Warner Bros, after directing 300 and the upcoming Suckerpunch."

Snyder, directed the adaptation of Watchmen which in my eyes was a pretty astounding achievement, and he was my top choice to do this movie believe it or not!

One would imagine his creative accomplishment with that film coupled with the success of 300 and what the studio has seen of Sucker Punch have all combined to make him seem like the perfect person to direct.

Update on the Superman Copyright Legal Battle

The Hollywood Reporter has published an article which brings us up to date on where the legal battle over the rights to Superman is currently at. Seems that Warner Bros. filed a stack of legal papers yesterday to persuade a judge to keep alive its claim against the Siegel's lawyer Marc Toberoff.

A hearing date in the case is set for Oct. 18, although there's a chance the court could be so overwhelmed by the legal paperwork that there will be a delay. Depositions, including those of the Siegels, Shusters and Toberoff himself, are scheduled to begin in mid-November. The future of the "Superman" empire, hundreds of millions of dollars, and perhaps even the future of power in Hollywood will be at stake. Ben Affleck WAS In The Running To Direct Superman

More reboot news. Or none news as the case may be. But it seems Affleck(riding high on the success of The Town) was in line to tackle The Man Of Steel next..

According to Heatvision..

Word began to leak last week of directors who were meeting or will meet with Nolan and Warner brass for the relaunch of one of Hollywood's biggest franchises. Duncan Jones (“Moon”), Jonathan Liebesman ("Battle: Los Angeles"), Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield,” this Friday’s “Let Me In”), Tony Scott and Zack Snyder are on the list.

And so was Affleck, who is extremely popular at Warners after making “The Town,” a critical and box-office hit. But according to insiders, the actor-director -- who, ironically, once portrayed the actor who played Superman on TV in "Hollywoodland" -- met about "Superman" last week but is no longer pursuing it.

That sounds like he passed on it to me. Affleck doesn't have too much in the works right now(that we know about) so maybe he wasn't crazy about the script/plot? Who knows. Anyway, I know like me you must be a bit sick of hearing who might/may have directed it and just want to know who will. But I found this interesting. Affleck is the 7th director(if the short list is accurate of course) to be mentioned in connection with this. Are WB and Chris Nolan just going down a list of who had a hit recently? Granted the names are all pretty good to great talents, but I hope they are more concerned with who is best suited to this particular character than who they think can deliver a box office draw.

Christopher Nolan & Emma Thomas are moving forward with upcoming reboot for Superman, with Deadline reporting that they've begun meeting with the following directors to helm the 2012 reboot for The Man Of Steel.

"Nolan has starting meeting candidates Tony Scott(Unstoppable), Matt Reeves(Let Me In), Jonathan Liebesman(Battle: Los Angeles), Duncan Jones(Source Code), Zack Snyder(Sucker Punch), this week and will submit his choice to the studio within the next few weeks."

While the the film is expected to hit theaters winter 2012 and many of the directors have commitments, which one do you think could adapt the last son of krypton to the silver-screen the right way, in script written by David S. Goyer?

Another name thrown into the mix now were hearing that the WB is also looking at "Darren Aronofsky" as It looks like Fox and WB are playing pass the director!

As Aronofsky, previously linked to Wolverine 2, is the latest name to be thrown into the expanding short list of directors for the Superman reboot..

Zack Snyder is my personal favorite right now to direct this movie, and hope he gets it.

At this point, 3 directors have been mentioned in connection with both Fox's Wolverine 2 and WB's Superman reboot. Tony Scott, Matt Reeves and now Darren Aronofsky.

As he intensifies his search for a director on the Warner Bros. reboot, Christopher Nolan, who's godfathering the new Superman and producing the David Goyer script, has had discussions with Aronofsky about the job, sources say.

Aronofsky's latest, Black Swan, is gaining huge plaudits and is set to become a big art house hit. While he would seem a left field choice for something like Superman he is also just the type of director someone like Chris Nolan would go for in my opinion. Both made their names with tiny budget indie films and have since gone on to make some much bigger, successful, but never particularly commercial or "studio friendly" movies. The big difference between them is that Aronofsky has yet to make anything as big as Nolan's Batman films. But, he was all set to do the Robocop reboot for WB until it fell through. Maybe he will cut his blockbuster teeth with The Man Of Steel instead.

Does the WB Want Natalie Portman For Lois Lane In Their Superman Reboot?

It was only a matter of time before this rumor popped up, but here is the first(of many I'm sure!). Apparently WB are not only keen on Darren Aronofsky to helm their new Superman, but to get his Black Swan star Natalie Portman on board as Lois Lane..

An update on the Aronofsky story over at Moviehole not only suggests that WB are looking for Portman to play Lois in this next Superman movie, but that she was their first choice last time around too!..

A friend that worked on "Black Swan" with Mr Aronofsky tells us that the filmmaker has actually "been talking about this for a while" and that they don't think talks have "progressed beyond the suggestion of having Nat[alie Portman] be Lois. They wanted her first time around, this time they can get her - with Darren. But who knows where that's at now...nothing on paper yet. Don't add his name to the IMDB director listing on the film's page yet", she adds.

The idea of Aronofsky as a potential director for Superman has certainly been met with approval from most fans on CBM.

I loved Miss Portman in the Star Wars prequels, and she was awesome in V For Vendetta but!

This is a big one here.... I don't know what to think of her as Lois Lane... Certainly this would move away from using the Smallville cast which I absolutely love!

Honestly Erica Durance is a much better choice, and she's completely owned the role since she's taken over the role on Smallville.

Portman is no stranger to Comic Book Movies, having already played Evey Hammond in V For Vendetta and will soon grace our screens as Jane Foster in Thor. IF Aronofsky does end up behind the camera, I wouldn't be surprised if she did follow. Of course its all just speculation for now.

And again I'm still holding out hope that The WB and the players involved with making this movie doesn't screw it up, and make the same mistakes made in Singerman Returns.

I think Portman much like Kate Bosworth looks way to young for this role, and honestly that was a major issue with Singerman Returns.

Kate looked like she was just out of highschool, and so does Portman! Not trying to hate they are both very pretty hot ladies but neither of them look old enough or look like seasoned reporters.

I was texted yesterday night around 11:30pm by my co-worker at Warner Bros. He said that Scott Porter has signed on to play Clark Kent in the Superman reboot The Man of Steel.

I am not too sure about this. He got the information from his friend, but he says he is adamant that it is true and that he only found out earlier (August 6 2010). Here is a copy of the text he sent me:

"J freak out just heard Scott Porter is playin Clark Kent in the reboot.".

I will let you make your own minds up. I know why he said "Clark Kent" and NOT "Superman" which is that Clark Kent is the dominant personality in the new movie. Hopefully this scoop doesn't get deleted like the Batman 3 scoop. This one is fresh from the mouth!!

Personally this is awful news! I mean this guy could not be more wrong for the part... Just look at him! He doesn't look the part at all.

I'm still backing Tom Welling for the role, and hope this Rumor proves to be nothing but an ugly dumb Rumor.

Siegel heirs could jeopardize Superman Reboot

Fight over rights to the "Man of Steel" between the WB and the heirs of Siegel sould possibly put a stop to the new movie being rebooted by Chris Nolan.

I was going around the internet just a little while ago. There's been an update on the Siegel lawsuit over the rights to Superman. At the end of the article it said that the lawsuit COULD potentially endanger Nolan's Superman reboot.

I sure hope the Siegels won't mess up the new film. They could very well screw over an entire loyal fanbase. I hope something can get settled so we can still get our badass reboot film that we were promised.

Laura Vandervoort To Suit Up As Supergirl In Smallville Season 10!

According to both the actress and executive producer Kelly Souders, fans can look forward to seeing something very close to her comic book outfit, her Linda Lee Danvers identity and more...

In a report over at TV Guide, Laura Vandervoort has revealed some new information about what we can expect to see fom Clark Kent 's cousin Kara in the tenth, and final season of the show: "Kara returns in a very heroic way. When I found out this could be my last episode, I thought it would be great to see a quick glimpse of her in the uniform before she takes off."

Well, looks like she's going to get her wish because according to executive producer Kelly Souders, "You really see her as Supergirl. Not the whole outfit, but her wardrobe will have evolved even a little more than Clark's. She's less Kara and way more Supergirl."

Vandervoort also told the site that Kara will take on her new look in a photo shoot after revealing her powers to the world. The beautiful actress then went on to talk about how exactly she'll get away with showing her face and keeping her identity secret. "You'll see Kara in the brunette wig and glasses as a bit of an homage to her other identity from the comics, Linda Lee Danvers."

"Kara has a lot of input down the road in Clark's transformation into Superman," she finished by teasing.

Brandon Routh Says He's "Moved On" From The Role Of Superman!

In this previously unreleased interview, the actor talks about moving on from Superman as well as how he thinks the role has affected his career...

Brandon Routh may have spent the past few weeks during interviews for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World expressing his desire to return to the role of Clark Kent/Superman. However, in an interview that took place earlier this year during his time on the TV show Chuck, he wasn't quite so keen on returning to the role!

"I went through some anticipation for a while but it has been four years now so I have moved on to other things," he said when asked whether he'd be interested in playing Superman again.

I think I have found my place now," Routh added. "Playing Superman hasn't haunted me by any means. The challenge with that is a lot of people in the industry just stereotyped Superman Returns as a silly kind of movie. I have done quite a lot of roles since then, but not a lot has gotten out."

As for me I'm happy he's moved on, and dude you wont be missed trust me. Now I personally think that Tom Welling should be the big screen Superman when Nolan reboots the series, and this will allow them a chance to not have to re do the damn origin again.

There is no need to re do it if Tom is Superman since we had 10 seasons on tv to learn the back story...

Tom Welling will finally suit up as Superman, Darkseid will be the main villain and expect an appearence from Blue Beetle! UPDATED: Check out an even more detailed description of the footage shown!

Once again thanks to Newsarama, we have all the latest updates from the Smallville Comic Con panel which is just about to wrap up in San Diego! There are several really exciting bits of news below, so read on for what will surely have even the harshest of the shows critics excited for the tenth, and final, season!

Geoff Johns, CCO of DC Entertainment is moderating the panel today, and promises a surprise or two for the final season.

A tease of the costume... and it looks like we have FLIGHT folks!

Lois said "Superman!" it's all coming to a head.

We do have a costume, guys.

And now we know what that Blue Beetle test footage may have been for...Geoff Johns is writing a Blue and Gold episode.

Blue Beetle and Booster Gold will be on this season of Smallville.

Cassidy Freeman, Erica Durance, Justin Hartley, and Tom Welling came out on stage, along with the producers. And we've confirmed that Darkseid is this year's big bad!

Darkseid will be a bit different from the comics however, to fit in with this world better.

The Superman costume is a slightly altered version of the one in Superman Returns.

If you hadn't heard already, John Schneider will be back as Pa Kent a bit this season, and he just came on stage!

They're really playing up the idea of Clark finally becoming the big hero we know from comics, and it looks like that will actually happen during the season, not just at the very end.

"The door is open" for Michael Rosenbaum to return as Lex Luthor, but nothing has been locked down yet.

No chance of Wonder Woman or Batman though.

And here is an even more detailed description from IGN of the footage that was shown just a few minutes ago!

Footage showed Lois saying, "I'm the last to know", and we see her looking at the full Superman suit Martha gave Clark. We see Carter Hall/Hawkman in a desert setting, saying, "I guess you never know what fate has planned for you," and Lois also appears to be in this desert scenario.

Tess Mercer wakes up in Cadmus Labs, and sees in a reflection that she is horribly disfigured on one side of her face. She meets a young boy there who shows her adult bodies in fluid filled tanks. When Tess asks the boy who they are, he says, 'My brothers."

We then see new footage of Clark walking up to Jonathan Kent on the Kent Farm, who tells him, "Something very dark is coming. And you're going to be tested."

The trailer ends a quick montage, including Chloe holding Dr. Fate's helmet, and a voice over of Jonathan Kent saying, "You're going to be the greatest hero the world has ever seen," before we cut to Lois saying, "Superman." The final shots show Clark apparently flying straight up holding the Daily Planet globe in his hands.

Superman Costume Revealed In 'Smallville' Final Season Trailer

The 'Smallville' season 10 trailer finally the first glimpse of the costume fans have been waiting to see since the show began.

Lois was shown looking at the Superman suit as it was neatly tucked away in a box at the barn. Tom Welling said he hadn't seen it in person yet, but he couldn't wait.

"Whatever we do, I want to make sure we earn the suit at the end," Welling said after the panel.

As for other tidbits, John Schneider will be back as Clark's dad for at least one episode, if not more.

Even though he's read his scene, Schneider said: "I don't know if that means I'm a spirit. I'm not really sure exactly what I am; real, imaginary, memory? But it's the best written scene I've ever done on Smallville."

Laura Vandervoort [photos] will return as Kara Zor-El, better known as Supergirl and James Marsters will return as Brainiac for the show's 200th episode.

Alison Mack fans will also be pleased to hear Chloe will return to tie up her character and the relationship with Oliver.

Meanwhile, producers are still working to get Michael Rosenbaum to return as Lex.

"I know he's thinking about it," says Welling. "I know he knows that we want him and we don't feel like we can end it without it."

We'll see a lot of Erica Durance [photos] (Lois) and Justin Hartley (Oliver) this season as they're slated to be in 22 and 17 episodes each, respectively.

TVGuide.com's William Keck has interviewed Laura Vandervoort and executive producer Kelly Soudersepisode of Smallville and in doing so, got some spoilers about what we should expect about Laura's upcoming return

- Laura says that Kara is returning in a "very heroic way," and it sounds likely that she will get her wish to be seen in the Supergirl uniform before she takes off.

- Kelly Souders tells TV Guide that Kara's outfit "will have evolved even a little more than Clark's. She's less Kara and more Supergirl."

- Kara will become a "media darling" after she saves the world doing a heroic save, so she has to take on the alter ego of Linda Lee Danvers (seen to your left).

- Souders says that Kara has input down the road in Clark's transformation to Superman

, which seems to have worried many fans who expect or would like for the lead character from the show (Clark) to take the lead in such things. Flying, and now the costume and secret identity... hopefully it's not too late for Clark to be an inspiration himself.

Smallville alum John Glover has signed on to come back for the last season of the hit CW drama. Glover, who plays Lionel Luthor, father of Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor, will appear in at least two episodes in November, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Glover joins the list of former series regulars and guest stars returning for the final season of the Superman prequel. The returning stars include Laura Vandervoort (supergirl Kara-El), James Marsters (brainiac Milton Fine), John Schneider (Jonathan Kent), and Michael Shanks (Hawkman).

So far, there is no word on whether or not Michael Rosenbaum will return to reprise his role as Lex Luthor one last time. Rosenbaum has been missing from the series since Lex’s explosive exit in the season seven finale.

The tenth and final season of Smallville is set to premiere on the CW, Friday, September 24 at 8/7c.

Well some said it wouldn't happen but from the looks of it Tom will wear the suit, and might not just be a final shot! But maybe even for a good part of the season coming up.

As you all know Smallville will be closing shop after this upcoming season, and with this comes the final evolution of Clark Kent into "The Man of Steel" or "Superman" to the un-geeks reading this.

Never had an actor played the role as long as Tom Welling so this being the final season really is a sad thing even if it's a show that ran for 10 years. Just think everything we have seen this decade we had Smallville on tv waiting for us every Thursday night, and then Friday night the last two seasons. I'm sure that Tom wants to play other roles, and from what I hear wants to direct also but he is this Generations face to this role, and that's an amazing honor he should be very proud off, and should fully embrace. I mean who wouldn't want to have people look at him, and say "hey that's Superman."

See to Superman fans he will always be known as this generations "SUPERMAN" just like Chris Reeve was to my generation as a kid, and millions of kids have grown up the last decade, and have seen Tom Welling as their face to the role of Superman.

This is such the case that the last movie flopped, and I personally think it was because it was a movie that featured another face, and well we got a "Superman" movie without this generations "Superman" which I think upset the fanbase to the point that nobody cared after the first week of that movie.... The fact that it was terrible didn't help it's cause, and so since Tom is this generations face to the role it would have been a total shame if he didn't get the chance to suit up for the series at least once!!! Heck he didn't get the role in the last movie, and things don't look great for the Nolan produced movie even tho he, and Chris Nolan as Producer... Well it's like a match made in fanboy heaven.

But if this is all we get then thank you Tom for proving them all wrong, and wearing the suit after all the people who said you would never wear it now can eat crow, and as a fan of the show there is nothing I wanted more then to see the suit on this show, and see you flying.

So this past Sunday Comic book author, and president of Blue Water Productions Darren G. Davis did a radio show interview with talk show "Tha Jackals Head" which is hosted by "Tha JackaL" can be heard on The Paranormal Soup Network & Tenacity Radio, Let it slip that this final season Tom Welling WILL INDEED wear the suit, and get this! It's mostly his doing.

When asked about Tom Welling, and Smallville being in it's 10th season Darren G. Davis wasted no time, and said "he will be wearing the Red & Blue this season, and if that wasn't enough to make one happy get this! He said that it was mostly his (Tom) doing because Tom wanted to do it because he wanted to put an end to what some people were saying about him being scared to wear it due to the so called "Superman Curse."

Looks like Tom doesn't believe in the curse, and will make millions of fans happy, and he will wear the "REAL SUIT" afterall.

When asked if it would look like the RED & BLUE or another "Black suit" he wears Darren said flat out that "No it will be the traditional RED & BLUE."

This is being reported over at "Aint it cool News" now let me tell you something here! This is what us fans have been wanting to read for years!!!

This could be the best news EVER!!!

If this is hoax, it’s a good one, as it comes with a few bits of convincing detail we are not sharing with you.
Someone has written us, claiming to have gotten a glimpse of some signage being prepared for next month’s “Smallville” presentation at Comic-Con. His or her description:

On black, with crimson/red text in the same font lettering that Smallville uses, and a transparent grey Superman "S" watermark behind the text:

METROPOLIS

CHRISTMAS 2010

Then at the bottom is a banner advertising the Smallville presentation, with the time/place (can't remember).

Other info this untested source sent us suggests "Metropolis" is a movie-length project, and not a new series.

Word is “Smallville” will conclude its 9-year run May 2010, so it makes sense that the CW would tack on a couple more production hours up there in Canada to make a Superman TV-movie that would run seven or so months after the series’ conclusion.

But what if Tom Welling isn't putting on the red cape for the small screen? It doesn’t seem like 18 months is enough time to slap together a big-screen "Smallville" sequel, but I also seem to remember Warner Bros. kicking the first three episodes of “Clone Wars” to cinemas without a lot of notice.

This comes from an untested source, self-described as “Yoda’s Bitch,” so kindly take it all as rumor.

Movie fans are in for a treat when Bonhams & Goodman conduct an auction of Collectables on Sunday 24 May at 2pm, in the Melbourne salerooms.

SUPERMAN COSTUME

One of the highlights of the auction is a costume worn by actor Christopher Reeve as Superman. Reeve played the super hero in four feature-length movies between 1978-1987. The costume comprises a leotard featuring the unmistakable red and yellow 'S' logo, a pair of red trunks and yellow belt. The leotard has slits in the side through which cables were fed to suspend Reeve while filming simulated flying scenes for Superman III.

Superman costumes rarely appear on the market and are much sought after by collectors. Complete costumes have been known to sell for in excess of $100,000 at auction. This part-costume carries an estimate of $15,000-20,000.

Superman is an icon of twentieth century Popular Culture. His distinctive blue, red and yellow crime fighting costume makes him arguably the most recognisable character in movie history. He was created in 1932 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in 'Action Comic #1' in 1938. The huge success of the comic book hero led to several spin-offs including a long-running radio series and seventeen short films. In 1978 the first feature length Superman movie opened with Christopher Reeve in the lead role. Allison Mack Confirms Season 10 of "Smallville" Likely

You'll recall that back in late February the Superman Homepage was the first to report that "Smallville" could possibly continue on for 10 seasons when Tom Welling renewed his contract for the TV series. Allison Mack now confirms this in an interview with IndieWire.com...

Q: What's the latest with Smallville? How do you like living in Vancouver?

Mack: The latest with Smallville is that we have another season [after this season's finale on May 14]. Tom has signed for two more, so the show will go until season 10. I will be completed with my contract next year, and I am looking for new and exciting ways to carry out my character's exit. I love living in Vancouver, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I love the people, the food, the aesthetic, and the life I have built here. It's wonderful.

‘Tudors’ Star Henry Cavill Was So Close To Playing Superman, He Even Wore The Cape!

Even though he’s currently busy offing the heads of rebellious Englishmen as Sir Charles Brandon on “The Tudors,” Henry Cavill revealed to MTV News that he was once connected to a very different — and much less morally murky — role in popular fiction.

Before the Bryan Singer-helmed “Superman Returns” went into production, Cavill was slated to star as the Man of Steel in “Terminator Salvation” director McG’s vision of the beloved DC Comics superhero.

“I was attached to the McG ‘Superman’ movie,” Cavill told MTV News during a press event for Woody Allen’s “Whatever Works.” “Then Bryan Singer came on and took the helm and he made his movie.”

Cavill claims that his involvement in the superhero film went so far that he even wore a Superman costume. But due to a variety of reasons, including McG’s self-acknowledged fear of flying from the United States to Australia, the project itself never took flight.

“[The McG and Singer versions] were two different movies,” Cavill explained. “So it wasn’t so much of a sting because it was like, ‘Oh, I got [the role],’ and then the movie just didn’t happen.”

Interestingly, McG’s now-defunct “Superman” isn’t the only time Cavill has been linked to a comic book icon. Cavill was previously rumored for the Man of Tomorrow in the long-gestating “Justice League” movie. Cavill was even close to landing the part of Bruce Wayne during casting auditions for “Batman Begins” before losing out to Christian Bale.

Despite bad luck successfully securing superhero fare thus far, it seems like Cavill is destined for a collision course with comic books at some point during his career. The young actor might even have another crack at Superman before too long, given Warner Bros’ announcement regarding a potential reboot of the “Superman” film franchise.

The CW has released the official (spoiler-filled) description of the upcoming 20th episode of Season 8 of "Smallville". Titled "Beast", this episode is scheduled to air in the U.S. at 8.00pm on Thursday, April 30th on The CW.

Will Clark Fly in "Smallville" Season Finale?

E! Online's "Watch with Kristin" Spoiler Chat has one interesting "Smallville" spoiler this week regarding the "No Tights. No Flights" rule...

Is it true that Clark is finally gonna fly this season on Smallville?

There's no proper flying or supersuit this season, but there will be a Smallville "leap" that goes above and beyond a tall building - but it isn't actually flying. Sorry Superfans.

In case you were wondering, the next new episode of "Smallville" (titled Stiletto) airs in the U.S. on Thursday, April 23rd.

I think the key words here are "There's no proper flying or supersuit this season" this does leave open NEXT season which I think it's when we will see Clark Fly, and eventually in the suit... They can't keep having him do what he does without the suit, and if he's going to be flying watching in in the suit will be super cool!

I think the show will push for 10 seasons (Tom Welling signed a 2 year contract) if season 9 has the ratings the last few have had then count on a season 10, and I think it would be neat to have him put the suit on by mid way thru next season, and then season 10 have an entire season with him in the Suit... Which would be a nice way to end the series if 10 seasons is indeed the end.

The CW has released the official (spoiler-filled) description of the upcoming 18th episode of Season 8 of "Smallville". Titled "Eternal", this episode is scheduled to air in the U.S. at 8.00pm on Thursday, April 2nd on The CW.

"Eternal" was written by Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders and was directed by James Marshall.

The CW has released 9 images, an episode trailer (also available via YouTube), a Director's Cut video clip (also on YouTube), and a Preview Clip.

Well folks I like to say that I am a proud AMERICAN, and I love one thing most about this country, and that is a little paper which was signed into law many moons ago... I think you might have heard of it it's called THE CONSTITUTION!

For all you communists out there who forget this paper is what our nation is based on! Go read your facts! Freedom of speech no matter in what form is what makes this country what it is! This is really the place where every word can be heard, and with the internet your words can be heard all over the USA, and the world!

The amazing thing about this thing we call the internet is that it really does reach all over the globe, and it really does connect people in a way that religion, cultures, and other things could not... Just to give you an example I have a person who I'm friends with who is from the U.K, and we met thanks to a forum, and became friends, and talk online all the time.

Without the INTERNET this connection would have never happened, and this friendship would have never happened... Now what I love about the internet most is that it can break down walls when it comes to such things as racial tension, and other forms of bigotry. By simply allowing people to be able to talk to each other no matter location, race or background.

With this said I also have to stand up, and celebrate when FREEDOM of SPEECH on this internet is given, and when people who try to stop it get laughed at, and mocked in public for being the communist pigs they are.

SaveSuperman.com is a website that I'm sure some of you know about, and have been to, especially if you did not like Singerman Returns! Now the sites runners have NEVER ONCE said anything to my understanding that would lead anyone to complain against them but to try to shut them down because the people in the forums were being anti gay, and voicing their constitution given opinion is just insulting.

Do these Singer appologists forget that little paper I spoke about in the start if this rant? I mean to try, and shut down a website over that, and claim things which turn out to be false is laughable, and plain stupid.

Is it wrong to gay bash? YES! It is wrong on the simple terms that gay people are humans just like the rest of us, and we all share this planet together, and should all love each other, and get along with each other yada yada yada.... BUT! Is it right to censor an entire site because someone says "Singer is a fag, and SUPERMAN RETURNS was GAY!" the answer is NO!

That's a persons right to say, and well it's not like it's a lie! I mean Bryan Singer is out of the closet, and is a homosexual which we know the slang for homosexual is "FAG," and yes as much as I hate to admit it folks Superman Returns was a really gay movie.

Now Would I be hurt if they said "This movie was made by a chubby guy who is balding!" NO Because it's their right, and if I were making the movie, and they said something like that I would look at it, and say well I am chubby, and I am slightly losing my hair... Hmmm ohwell.

I mean It's their right to say it given this is a free country, and I know there is a big communist movement in AMERICA right now for some reason stupid is as stupid does! But til the day this country is no longer uses that paper to guide its laws by I will be a backer of it.

Now back to why I made this post to start with! Well I'll let the "webmaster" of SaveSuperman.com give you the news:

"Smallville" going beyond season 8?

Now I know people hate on SupermanHomePage.com all the time but say what you will they do get some good scoops from time to time.

Looks like season 8 being the final season was nothing more then a Singerman fans wet dream!
But after a season 9 could a 10th be also on the table? Could this be the WB's way of making up to the fans who are still upset that Welling was over looked for Teh Routh from the South?

Maybe I'm reading to much into this I mean Smallville IS the top rated show on the network, and losing a cash cow like Smallville hurts deeply!

Anyway here is what they reported over on SupermanHomePage.com

On the back of yesterday's announcement that The CW has renewed "Smallville" for a 9th season, the Superman Homepage did some digging to find out just who will be returning in Season 9.
A source well positioned to know about these things told the Superman Homepage that at this point in a TV series Warner Bros. requires main cast members to sign a 2 year contract. Therefore Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen) and Erica Durance (Lois Lane) were all signed on for a possible 9th season when they negotiated their contracts at the beginning of Season 8.
So, with Tom Welling's original contract having been for 8 seasons, his new contract (signed for season 9) would most likely also be a 2 year deal, meaning there could potentially be a season 10!

Heath Ledger Wins the Oscar!!

Now I know this blog is a SUPERMAN blog but I couldn't help but post this amazing news!

The 28-year-old star, who died from an accidental drugs overdose a year ago, is only the second actor to receive a posthumous Oscar after British-born Australian Peter Finch won for Network in 1976.
Ledger had already won a clutch of industry honours, including a Bafta, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award, for his lauded performance in the Christopher Nolan-director comic book film and an Oscar win was considered almost a given ahead of Sunday's ceremony.
The award was accepted by Ledger's parents and his sister. Kim Ledger, the actor's father, thanked the Academy and British filmmaker Nolan for "allowing Heath the creative licence to develop and explore this crazy joker character".
"This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here, his peers, within an industry he so loved," Mr Ledger said.
Presenter Kevin Kilne, a former best supporting Oscar winner, described Ledger's portrayal of the villainous character made famous by Jack Nicholson as "menacing, mercurial, droll and diabolical".
As his name was announced, cameras cut away to show fellow stars Anne Hathaway, who starred in Brokeback Mountain with Ledger, and Angelina Jolie, battling back tears.
Ledger's sister, Kate, dedicated the golden statuette to his young daughter with actress Michelle Williams, saying, "we proudly accept this award on behalf of your beautiful Matilda." The Perth-born star, who was previously nominated for a best actor Oscar in 2006 for Brokeback Mountain, was found dead in his New York apartment in January 2008.
His death was attributed to an accidental overdose of prescription drugs including sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medication and painkillers.
Ledger, also known for his roles in films including Monster's Ball, Ten Things I hate about You, A Knight's Tale and the Bob Dylan-inspired I'm Not There, beat fellow nominees Josh Brolin, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robert Downey Jr and Michael Shannon.
Since its release last summer, The Dark Knight has made more than one billion dollars at the global box office.
Earlier, Penelope Cruz won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in the Woody Allen comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Now this is amazing it's the first time a role like The Joker has been honored by winning this award! Normally Comic book movies are over looked come Oscar time while this was a special case since Ledger passed away I think it's only fair to say that regardless of his passing he deserved this award because he turned in a truly amazing performance, and this award was EARNED not given.

The saddest thing is that he is not with us anymore, and won't be able to be in future BATMAN movies, and or any movies for that matter.

Heath Ledger was really one of the best actors of our day, and he will be missed forever.

I was touched watching his family accent his award... At least they get to have this day to remember their son.

IS Singer is finally out of the picture??? WAIT! There is more!

Well folks the day is finally here! Or atleast this is what is being reported over at "Aint it cool news" and other Superman related news sources like "SSS" which have helped to fight the good fight vs the evil Singerman franchise which did nothing but tarnish the Superman legacy on screen.

I for one saw this day coming the day that Singer explained his movie idea for the script, and showed just how un original, and unloyal to the source material that he is.

Bryan Singer is a cancer to the Superman franchise, and Mr Singer don't let the door hit your ass on the way out fast enough please! Thank you for stopping by, and never return!

Now the news goes as follows:

Bryan Singer has refused to undertake a re-boot of the Superman franchise and has left the Executives at WB with no choice but to take a fresh creative direction.

He "refused"? HAHAHA More like was thrown out by the FANS!

He stated the Wachowski Brothers had been approached to re-boot the franchise as a trilogy and they are currently reviewing their options as its like being asked to take the final play in a superbowl final. Says if they do agree, he will likely either succumb to providing second unit support on the movie or will champion the directorship of Plastic Man - He started to giggle as he stated its like a young child for the Brothers and they wont give that up easily.

- Says, the very thought of the brothers making a superman movie is unbelievable as they have grown up in the world of comic books and they would be ideal for the project.

I want to be happy right now but this news comes a bit bitter sweet as for with one gay director leaving the project to bring on a duo of directors which one is a cross dresser who has a fetish for homo erotic looking imagry in his film I worry that they won't be any better.

The Wachowski Siblings (Since Larry is reported to have had a sex change!) are all wrong for this project!

While yes they did show how cool it would look to have someone flying on film they have made no good movies since 1999, and that was THE MATRIX which had two sequels that probably blew as many cocks as Bryan Singer, and the Transexual Larry Wacko! Now I'm not homophobic for I'm not afraid of gay people, and I don't hate or bash gay people in public I have gay family memebers, and I am even all for them being in the Army out, and open.

Hell I will go as far as to say that I believe all gay people should have the right to get married.
But I believe it's a bad idea to have another GAY director involved in a project which got some very negative buzz over the whole "Gay Superman" agenda of Bryan Singers.

Remember this people?

I really don't want to see this!

Let's stop the Bullshit already, and let's listen to what the fans want! I think it's been made clear who the fans want as Superman, and now I don't think it's far fetched that the WB actually for once listened to the fans, and did the right thing!

This Generation already has a face to the role of SUPERMAN, and that's Tom Welling.
What should happen is the creators of Smallville should take the task to bring Superman to life on the big screen just how they did on tv but on a much bigger scale, and with an improved budget, and since we havent seen him even fly yet you can still explore so much that hasn't been seen on the show!

Plus best part, and this is a bonus part! NO NEED TO RE-DO the origins!
We would have had 8 or 9 seasons worth of backstory told on tv for that! People who have never seen the show could pick up the entire series watch them after they see the movie, and find out the back story.

This is the modern day look to SUPERMAN... Period! To cast anyone else in the next decade would result in another actor taking the bashing Brandon Routh took from the fans, and after the turnout that Superman Returns was I doubt the WB wants another flop on their heads!

They want a hit, and they want it badly!!! I think that having Tom's Superman wear the suit for the first time, and fly, and fight using all of Supermans powers on the big screen would be a dream come true for MILLIONS!

Review: Smallville Power

Smallville Episode 8x14

Official CW description:
An explosion at LuthorCorp kills all the Board members and injures Oliver (Justin Hartley), who was there to announce the merger of his company with LuthorCorp. Oliver believes that Lex is responsible for the blast, but Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) learn that the bomber is Winslow Schott (Chris Gauthier), a toymaker and former Queen Industries employee with a grudge against Oliver.

Note: This is the last episode with Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang.

I thought the show was excellent, and while what happens to Lex isn't what I wanted to see happen the show's producers have to give the character some closure incase this is the last season, and with Michael not wanting to do the show anymore this is a fine way to leave it as is for now.

If the show continues on, and if Michael wants to return or they want to return the character they could always say that he didn't blow up, and it was a clone or a dummy or a rig job or some crap, and bring LEX back.

I think this show could have all new life for a few more seasons if they do more episodes about Lois & Clark next season! I think that could be nice for a change so I for one am happy to see Lana, and Lex leave for now.

They both left with cliff hangers really because who is to say that Lana or Clark don't find a cure for what she got!? Could happen! And like I said Lex could always be brought back.

But that's if they want to return, and the show is still on if they end it without ever bringing them back this serves as a nice send off.

After all in the big picture who is to say they don't come back like I said but those years are far in the futures storyline, and nothing we will see on tv since the show would be off the air so it doesn't matter.

This episode leaves the question always there with Lana & Lex... But it also removes them from the shows core group which now could be replaced with new people that could add more depth to the show.

For example they still haven't finished with Doomsday, and maybe more characters from the DCU will make a cameo if there is more seasons.

I personally have my fingers crossed with getting Hal Jordan to show up on the show...
Other then that in closing it was a terrific episode, and Tom Welling's acting is getting amazing in this role! He was excellent!

Ausiello: Yes, there's news, and it's good. Some would even call it, ahem, super. According to a well-placed Smallville insider, Welling is nearing a deal to return for a ninth season. I'm told they're just ironing out some minor deal points, such as should the Brinks Truck pull into the actor's driveway, or just unload on the street.

I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this as Season 8's finale draws closer.

John Glover Joining Cast of "Heroes"

Tony Award winner John Glover will be joining the cast of the NBC series Heroes, portraying the father of the show's main villain Sylar, according to TVGuide.com. His character will make his debut this spring.

Glover won his Tony for his performance in Love! Valour! Compassion! and recently received a 2008 Ovation Award for Secrets of the Trade. His numerous Broadway appearances include The Drowsy Chaperone, Tartuffe, Design for Living, and The Importance of Being Earnest. In addition to his portrayal of Lex Luthor's father Lionel on the TV series Smallville, Glover also currently appears on ABC's Brothers & Sisters.

Kristen Kreuk Talks "Smallville" and "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li"

FearNet.com recently caught up with Kristen Kreuk at Spike’s Video Game Awards and interviewed her about her new role in "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" and why she will not disappoint her Smallville fans.

FearNet: Will you be popping up on Smallville anymore this season?
Kristen: I will. I have four more episodes that will air starting January 15th.
FearNet: Anything you can share with us?
Kristen: Lana is coming back after being away for a long time. The audience gets to find out what happened to her, what occurred during that time period. She’s very different when she comes back. Then she gets a beautiful send-off. She’s been a victim for so long, so she gets a beautiful send-off as a hero that her fans will really, really like.
FearNet: Is this the last season of Smallville?
Kristen: I don’t know. It depends on whatever goes on between Tom Welling and the powers that be. If there is another season, I won’t be there – that is all I know!
FearNet: Tell us about "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li".
Kristen: It’s the origin story of Chun-Li, what happens in her childhood and through her young adult years that causes her to become the fighter that she is. It’s kind of a spiritual journey in a lot of ways. A traditional kung-fu story where I’m very angry and going to go get revenge, but I find a master who teaches me to overcome my emotions so I can see the greater good, then become a stronger fighter because internally you have a greater strength.
FearNet: Do you have a martial arts background?
Kristen: A bit. I have a purple belt in karate, which I took between 5th grade and 10th grade. I also have a competitive gymnastics background. So all of that helps out. I did do five weeks of training for the film. I would have loved to have done more. I had such a good time.
FearNet: Did you do a lot of your own stunts?
Kristen: I did a bunch of stunts. I also had three stunt doubles – one of which was a man. Between all four of us, we covered it.

Season Eight of Smallville Marks End of Tom Welling's Contract

According to this week's TV Guide (via Aint it Cool), 31-year-old Tom Welling is as free as a bird after Smallville finishes it's eighth, and possibly last, season.

His contract with the show will be up and though the young actor hasn't exactly got a viable film career to jump into (besides the forgettable remake of "The Fog" that he did, the only other thing he seems to have going on on the big screen are those incessant "Cheaper with the Dozen" films, where he plays kid number 2) he's understandably going to be a little tired of playing a teenage Clark Kent and itching to play anything but for a while - even if that is Steve Martin's tweenage son in another umpteenth "Dozen" sequels.

Welling hasn't indicated one way or the other yet, but the fact that he's no longer legally obligated to file stories for The Daily Planet does suggest he might look for work elsewhere next year.

"Smallville" executive producer Darren Swimmer also tells TV Guide this week that he's prepared for a series finale if it comes to pass, but there are still a few things he wants to see Clark explore before everything is wrapped up. "Clark's now in full control of his powers and basically accepting the fact that he's going to become Superman," Swimmer said. "The formation of the dual identity is what he's going to be negotiating from here on out. He'll start to experiment."

If The CW does chop "Smallville", Swimmer also has a suggestion for them : Give "Martian Manhunter" (played by Phil Morris on the series) his own hourly adventure series. - SOURCE

Here I hope this opens the door for Tom to get the chance at playing the big screen SUPERMAN some time soon... I would love for the show to continue for another 2 seasons at least! But Id much rather see Tom on the big screen as SUPERMAN!

UGO has posted an interview with Superman Returns director Bryan Singer, who goes a bit back and forth whether he's involved with the follow-up or not. Here's a clip:

JH: But there is talk of a new film, though. Are you officially involved in this talk of the new film?

BS: I am not officially involved in the talk, no.

JH: But when talk happens they�ll call you.

BS: Well it�s, you know, I have relationships with Warner Brothers and with the character and, and, and, and it�s just the way things work out.

JH: But you are not divorced from Superman at this point.

BS: No.

JH: All right.

Now understand he could still end up directing another SUPERMAN movie but odds are he wont I mean look how long it's taken to hear even this from him!
The WB are also tighter lipped about this subject then the JFK coverup!

Let's hope we get what WE THE FANS want... No Singer/Routh, and a movie with TOM WELLING as SUPERMAN.

Smallville Episode 10 "Bride" Details Announced

The CW have released the following description for the November 20th epsiode of Smallville entitled "Bride":

IT’S CHLOE AND JIMMY’S DREAM WEDDING DAY BUT TWO UNEXPECTED GUESTS CRASH THE PARTY — Chloe (Allison Mack) is excited that she’s marrying Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) but is worried that Davis (Sam Witwer) will stop the wedding. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he thinks he’s discovered where Lex is hiding and takes off to Cuba to confront him. However, when he arrives, Oliver is shocked to find Lana (Kristin Kreuk) instead. Clark and Lois (Erica Durance) grow closer but chaos ensues when Doomsday crashes the wedding and tries to kidnap Chloe. Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode written by Al Septian & Turi Meyer.

Christopher Reeve's Son On How To Make The Next Superman Movie: 'Just Be Original'

Many fans agree that there were a lot of things wrong with "Superman Returns" — but the filmmakers did manage to find an actor with an uncanny resemblance to the late Christopher Reeve. Was casting Brandon Routh a good thing? Does that honor Reeve’s memory?

Not necessarily, said Reeve’s son Matthew, during a recent fundraising event to benefit the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

"As far as we’re concerned, there’s only ever going to be one Superman," Matthew laughed.

So instead of worrying whether they should keep Routh or try to cast yet another actor who looks like Christopher Reeve in the upcoming reboot, Matthew suggested that Warner Bros. focus more on the story this next time around.

"There were lots of plot lines established, and it was very faithful to the original Donner films and sequels. I’d be curious to know how some of those plot lines in the last one will be continued or abandoned. If you look at 'The Dark Knight,' that was a phenomenal movie, and hopefully they can do something as good with the next version of this one."

Matthew’s advice, then, was this: "There are lots of fans of the comics and the films my dad did and the new one, and you can never please everyone. So just be original and creative and exciting, and I’m sure it will be successful."

I believe and honor the comments that 'Son of Sam' (10/11/'08) & 'Amiro' (10/21/'08) have injected; Tom Welling is the man to the Next Superman Hero to save the planet on the 'Big Screen' and 'BRANDON ROUTH' We all can relate to Tom Welling as the next 'SUPERMAN' like 'Son of Sam' mentioned 'Brandon Routh' Stinks. He is a very poor actor and does not relate with the Superman story.

Like so many people, I was a huge fan of Donner's 1978 "Superman" film and, in fact, I wrote a lengthy piece for the Los Angeles Times back in 2006Superman II," which reached theaters in 1980 in a very different form than Donner planned. There's been a lot of talk lately about the future cinema life of the first and greatest superhero, so I had to ask Donner what he thought of the talk that Warner Bros. would like to take the Man of Steel into darker terrain. when the filmmaker got to go back and re-cut the sequel, "

"I do think you could probably take Superman into some other areas today. I think maybe it's ready to break the mold slightly and bring a little greater sense of reality into it. Not contemporizing it to like today. Just making the heavies -- and the situation that is the tension piece -- a little more broken away from the comic-book character. It would take some tricky writing, some good acting and some good directing."

Bryan Singer's 2006 film, "Superman Returns," felt like a valentine to the Donner work on Superman and the older director received it with fondness. "I totally enjoyed it. I saw it just that once. I went to the theater not knowing anything. Bryan and I had spoken many times before but I didn't want to know anything about the film. I went as the audience. And I thought, 'Wow, he really nailed it.' There's that one scene, when that piano slid across the floor on the boat? I was startled. It was great."

What would Donner like to see next for the Last Son of Krypton? He didn't hesitate. "I'd like to see Geoff Johns take a crack at the Superman...I think he would be startling. Did you read his comics? There it is. It's there on paper." Johns is a star writer in comics, of course, but before that, the Detroit native worked in Donner's office as an assistant to the filmmaker. Once again, Donner thinks the smart way to do business is to put a premium on loyalty and good ideas. "The studio hasn't gone to him and said, 'Give us a screenplay.' That would be the smartthing to do, but that's show biz. Right? Show biz, that's our life." -- Geoff Boucher

In a recent interview with MTV, James Marsden talks about Superman and why he thinks audiences didn't react as well to "Superman Returns" as Warner Brothers Executives had hoped for. Enjoy the interview:

This guy doesn't get it! We don't want SUPERMAN to be dark! He is a character which should embody pure good!

He should never be dark! But the movie just sucked! It had no action, and while SUPERMAN can inspire love, and fight for "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" he should also have more then women issues to deal with.

How about giving him a bad guy to challenge his power, and have a real fight scene in the movie, and not just have him lift heavy things.

That gets boring real real quick... I especially think that also giving this generation their SUPERMAN is very important! Once a face is linked to a character like this there should never be two actors playing him at once, and believe me Brandon Routh was hurt by the fact that everyone see's Tom Welling as this generations SUPERMAN.

Routh didn't have a chance from the start, and it's sad for him because I'm sure he's a nice kid, and all but seriously he had no chance!

Kid lacked acting ability, got a craptacular script, and a director who's a total hack!!! And worst of all his badguy is going full retard with his latest land scheme that makes no sense!

Oh, and the fact that almost 90% of the crap Superman said we're lifted from the Reeve movies! That's sad! Talk about living in the mans shadows.

I would have much rather had Tom Welling in a big screen Superman movie, and or waited until the show was totally off air before I re-started the series with just the right actor who could take the title of "This generations Superman."

If Tom Welling never wears the suit it will be a sad thing because so many fans want to see him as SUPERMAN! He just simply looks the part, and for now going on 8 seasons he has become the mental picture we get when we think of what SUPERMAN looks like.

He has the same charm in the role that Chris Reeve had, and his acting sometimes reminds me of George Reeves!

So given all this Brandon seriously had no chance, and still it's sad that all this time later these people just don't seem to get it.

SUPERMAN is not a dark character!!!!! But DOOMSDAY IS! Brainiac is, and Lex should be pure evil!!! Not some rich widow with a grudge for SUPERMAN!

Give SUPERMAN the right actor (Welling) right director, Writers, and a supporting cast that rivals that on the Nolan/Batman movies, and I am 100% positive that the movie will bank!

Give the fans what they want! It's like Field of Dreams! "If you build it they will come!"

SECinfo.com has published the Time Warner Inc. Q-10 quarterly report, which has a summary of the on-going lawsuit over the rights to Superman and Superboy.

On October 8, 2004, certain heirs of Jerome Siegel, one of the creators of the 'Superman' character, filed suit against the Company, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Plaintiffs' complaint seeks an accounting and demands up to one-half of the profits made on Superman since the alleged April 16, 1999 termination by plaintiffs of Siegel's grants of one-half of the rights to the Superman character to DC Comics' predecessor-in-interest. Plaintiffs have also asserted various Lanham Act and unfair competition claims, alleging 'wasting' of the Superman property by DC Comics and failure to accord credit to Siegel. The Company answered the complaint and filed counterclaims on November 11, 2004, to which plaintiffs replied on January 7, 2005. On April 30, 2007, the Company filed motions for partial summary judgment on various issues, including the unavailability of accounting for pre-termination and foreign works. On March 26, 2008, the court entered an order of summary judgment finding, among other things, that plaintiffs' notices of termination were valid and that plaintiffs' had thereby recaptured, as of April 16, 1999, their rights to a one-half interest in the Superman story material, as first published, but that the accounting for profits would not include profits attributable to foreign exploitation, republication of pre-termination works and trademark exploitation. The remaining issues in the case are scheduled for trial starting in November 2008. The Company intends to defend against this lawsuit vigorously.
On October 22, 2004, the same Siegel heirs filed a second lawsuit against the Company, DC Comics, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., Warner Communications Inc. and Warner Bros. Television Production Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Plaintiffs claim that Jerome Siegel was the sole creator of the character Superboy and, as such, DC Comics has had no right to create new Superboy works since the alleged October 17, 2004 termination by plaintiffs of Siegel's grants of rights to the Superboy character to DC Comics' predecessor-in-interest. This lawsuit seeks a declaration regarding the validity of the alleged termination and an injunction against future use of the Superboy character. Plaintiffs have also asserted Lanham Act and unfair competition claims alleging false statements by DC Comics regarding the creation of the Superboy character. The Company answered the complaint and filed counterclaims on December 21, 2004, to which plaintiffs replied on January 7, 2005. The case was consolidated for discovery purposes with the 'Superman' action described immediately above. The parties filed cross-motions for summary judgment or partial summary judgment on February 15, 2006. In its ruling dated March 23, 2006, the court denied the Company's motion for summary judgment, granted plaintiffs' motion for partial summary judgment on termination and held that further proceedings are necessary to determine whether the Company's Smallville television series may infringe on plaintiffs' rights to the Superboy character. On January 12, 2007, the Company filed a motion for reconsideration of the court's decision granting plaintiffs' motion for partial summary judgment on termination. On April 30, 2007, the Company filed a motion for summary judgment on non-infringement of Smallville. On July 27, 2007, the court granted the Company's motion for reconsideration, reversing the bulk of the March 23, 2006 ruling, and requested additional briefing on certain issues. On March 31, 2008, the court, among other things, denied the Company's summary judgment motion as moot in view of the court's July 27, 2007 reconsideration ruling. To the extent any issues remain, the Company intends to defend against this lawsuit vigorously.

The abductor asks Chloe if she is in love with anyone else. Meanwhile, in an effort to find Chloe and Jimmy, Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) pose as a couple and are kidnapped themselves then, asked how they feel about each other. Allison Mack and Erica Durance also star. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Bryan Q. Miller.

E! Online have posted an article discussing the the status of the Justice League film and what the future holds for the project. Here's an excerpt:

Superman vs. Batman didn't fly. A hyped Aquaman TV show went belly-up without ever airing and the movie is an Entourage joke. A Wonder Woman movie is struggling to get off the drawing board.
The heroes may be down, but they're definitely not out.
In news guaranteed to give fanboys conniptions, Warner Bros. is developing an ambitious feature film based on DC Comics' Justice League of America that will gather together some of the biggest superheroes, according to Daily Variety.
"The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves," the studio's president of production, Jeff Robinov, told the trade.

Armie Hammer, the unknown picked to play Batman in the film, went on to tell E! Online that the Justice League actors endured months of vomit inducing physical training, and that he actually got to try on the Batsuit.

Considering that back in August, Robinov said that the studio has backed away from the Justice League film and has decided to go a different route and the fact that IESB reported just previous to Robinov's statements that George Miller is off the project, it is quite stretch to believe that the film is currently moving forward.

This means that she'll also be running the Daily Planet, so she'll no doubt be butting heads with Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) soon enough.

The character of Tess Mercer is new to the Superman universe. Her name was inspired by Miss Teschmacher and Mercy Graves, Lex's loyal assistants from the movies. It's great to have a character without any prior baggage on this show; it'll be interesting to see where the new showrunners take her this season.BuddyTV got a chance to hang out with Cassidy at the Smallville studio for a little while after she was done filming for the day. We interviewed her in the set of Tess Mercer's office. She had just finished shooting a contentious Tess-Clark scene there with Tom Welling.As you can see from the photo above, Cassidy's adorable dog joined us for the interview. Unfortunately, I don't speak dog, so I didn't get to ask it any personal questions about Cassidy.One thing about Cassidy is that she seems like a really fun person, and the entire crew unanimously talks about the great energy she brings to the set. Sony Online Entertainment has revealed that Geoff Johns, one of the key writers from DC Comics, will join 'superstar' artist Jim Lee in the production of DC Universe Online MMO as the game's scribe.

Johns currently writes key titles such as Action Comics (the longest-running Superman title) and Green Lantern, having written the likes of the blockbuster Infinite Crisis, Teen Titans and The Flash in the past. In a nutshell - he knows his DC comics. He calls himself a gamer, listing the like of Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and GTAIV among his favourites.

Speaking about what we should expect of the game, Johns said that things will kick off in true comics style with a 'secret origin'. "In a secret origin, something happens to you and you make a choice; what are you going to do?... There are lots of different stories or offshoots you can do. The story that I've created, is really just the first story but within that story, there are dozens and dozens of others."

He also hinted further about crossover between the comics and the game, saying, "There are some things in it [the game] from there that for people who know my stuff will be familiar. And there might be certain pieces of stories or certain big stories that might be adapted later on. But for now, the first big story is the secret origin story."

Earlier in the year Jim Lee, executive creative director on the game, hinted that we may see elements of the game being brought into the comics, too.

This will be the first time Johns has been officially teamed up with Lee (Batman, Superman, X-Men).

Visitors to the special exhibit "Zap! Pow! Bam! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950" can learn all about those legendary characters who fought evil and injustice. They can also learn about their predominantly Jewish creators.

The exhibit, which opens September 16th and runs through January 4th, will delight visitors of all ages. It has a high nostalgia quotient for those who grew up during the 1930s and '40s, some of whom may have been Glenville classmates of Superman's co-creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel. Baby boomers, too, will get a kick out of revisiting the diversions of their youth, whose characters were popularized even further by television in the 1950s. The historical significance of the comics may be lost on the youngest visitors, but they'll be tickled by a ride in an original, kid-sized, mechanized Batmobile, or a chance to emerge in full superhero regalia from a vintage phone booth.

Originally developed by The William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta, the exhibit's guest curator was Jerry Robinson, who worked with Batman creator Bob Kane. Robinson is credited with naming Batman’s young protégé Robin and co-creating Batman’s nemesis, The Joker. Many items from Robinson’s personal collection are on display.

The exhibit describes the genesis of the American comic book as a 20th century phenomenon, with roots in the 19th century pulp paper magazines and dime novels. Initially, the books were comprised of reprints of strips from the Sunday newspapers reduced to half-tabloid size. These were hugely successful and by the mid-1930s publishers ran out of previously printed material and began to employ writers and artists to create new stories. This creative opportunity was particularly attractive to many young, educated, ambitious Jewish men in New York City who were out of work during the Depression.

"Zap! Pow! Bam!" includes over 70 artifacts n vintage artwork, rare early comic books, scripts and original toys and games. Visitors can listen to audio interviews with many of the superheroes' creators, and view 1940s serials in the old-time movie theater. Those who get footsore can peruse an assortment of vintage comics while they rest a bit on a thoughtfully placed park bench.

Save the home where SUPERMAN was created!

More than $53,000 was raised as of Tuesday, September 16th to save the Glenville house where young Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman.

Early Tuesday morning, sales in the second of four eBay auctions reached $18,996. That, combined with last week's auction proceeds of $34,459, puts the two-week total at $53,455, surpassing the original goal of $50,000. Two more week-long auctions will be held over the next two weeks.

The money will be used to replace the roof and rebuild the exterior of the former home of Jerry Siegel on Kimberly Avenue on Cleveland's East Side in the coming weeks.

Money raised in excess of $50,000 goal will be used for interior repairs and other work.

The Cleveland-based Siegel and Shuster Society and novelist Brad Meltzer came up with the idea to raise money to restore the house by asking comic book and Hollywood royalty to contribute art or unique opportunities to be sold over the Internet in four auctions this month.

The biggest seller in the most recent auction was a drawing by Superman artist Curt Swan, which sold for $7,600. The biggest seller so far was $14,101 for a piece by artist Jim Lee, which would depict Superman and the auction winner. Upcoming auction items include a walk-on role on television's "Heroes"; a Superman T-shirt autographed by Jerry Siegel and original art by Alex Ross, Adam Kubert, John Buscema and Paul Dini. The CW has released 12 stills (pictured below) from "Smallville" season 8, episode 3, entitled "Toxic". The new episode, which airs October 2nd at 8pm, explores the origins of the Green Arrow and brings doomsday one step closer. Here's how the CW describes the show:

Oliver Flashes Back To His Days On The Island And Learns More About His Parents’ Demise — Oliver (Justin Hartley) collapses at a charity event and reveals he only has 24 hours to live. Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) call Davis (Sam Witwer) for help but his prognosis is grim. Delirious, Oliver flashes back to when he was stranded on an island and first learned how to use a bow and arrow. He also recalls meeting Tess (Cassidy Freeman) for the first time on that island after she had been kidnapped by a drug runner. Meanwhile, Chloe decides to use her new powers to help save Oliver, shocking Clark. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Caroline Dries

According to Amusement Today the ride "Superman: Ride of Steel" of Six Flags New England will under go a "Re-invention" of sorts.

Since its debut in 2000, "Superman: Ride of Steel" has electrified guests around the world.

In 2009, this incredible machine will be redesigned with imaginative special effects and newly renovated trains.

The transformation will be complete by Memorial Day.

"Six Flags is regarded as the undisputed leader in thrill ride innovation and at Six Flags New England we're taking that reputation to the next level," said Larry Litton, Park President. "The coaster that separates itself from all others will deliver an unprecedented ride experience."

Going above and beyond traditional steel coasters, this state-of-the-art invention will undergo a revolutionary makeover. The adventure will send riders up 20 stories while flying through fog banks, fire bursts and heart-pumping audio for three minutes and twenty two seconds of extreme thrills.

The re-launch of "Superman: Ride of Steel" will mark the start of another exciting season as Six Flags New England cements its position as the area's premier "daycation" destination. The park offers fun for every member of the family with world class shows, three children's areas — Wiggles World, Thomas Town and Looney Tunes Movie Town and New England's largest water park, Hurricane Harbor — FREE with park admission.

Brett Ratner talks about his one time involvement on the J.J. Abrams scripted Superman movie with MTV Splash Page Page writer Jennifer Vinyard!

Here's what Ratner had to say on the storyline and casting plans:

"The original movie I was going to be a part of took place on Krypton for about half of the movie. So it was much more otherworldly, and much darker, because there was a civil war on Krypton. You'd get more of the history."
In regard to Alex Ross inked book "The Death of Superman" Ratner said, "That wasn’t just darker, but cooler, in my mind. That was what we were going to model the visuals after. When you have to translate it to a cinematic world, it’s a whole different animal, and he’s one of the best Superman artists I’ve ever seen."
If it’s as dark as Warner Bros. wants for their reboot of Superman, Ratner still has a shot at making it: "Maybe we can go back to it one day," he said.
"I definitely agreed with Bryan Singer that you need an unknown actor. I was going to surround Superman with known actors, but it's important to get an unknown. I love Tom Cruise, but to have someone like him who you see as Tom Cruise would be a mistake."

Superman on TV - September 13-19

I love the smell of new TV in the fall.

Headlining this week's listings is the season eight premiere of television's longest-running live action Superman-related television show - the CW's "Smallville". You'd have to be living in a box - or at a minimum not dutifully checking the Superman Homepage every day - not to know that Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor), Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), and Laura Vandervoort (Kara Zor-El) are all not returning as "Smallville" regular cast members this season.

So far Kreuk and Vandervoort are both scheduled to guest star during the season.
There's been no word yet on whether Rosenbaum intends to appear on the show this year.

When we last left not-so-young-anymore Clark Kent, Lex had professed his love for Clark and set the entire Fortress of Solitude tumbling in upon the both of them. Chloe had been arrested by the Feds. Lana had finally for now left Clark again. And Supergirl was trapped in the Phantom Zone.

On this Thursday's "Odyssey", when all seems lost and too much for the Man from Krypton to handle, who ya gonna call? The Justice League.

New series regular Justin Hartley - continuing to play Oliver Queen a.k.a. The Green Arrow - recruits Aquaman and Black Canary to come to Clark's and Chloe's aid. Catch "Smallville" Thursday at 8 PM on the CW. In Chicago and the surrounding areas that get their CW from WGN, the "Smallville" premiere airs immediately following the baseball game so be sure to set your Tivos to record at 10:30 PM Central Time and record about an hour or so extra to ensure you get the whole episode in case the game runs long. WGN will also show an encore showing of "Odyssey" Sunday at Noon Central Time on the CW on WGN.

There's a potentially exciting block of programming on Boomerang this Saturday. Airing from 4 PM to 8 PM, it's "The Superman/Batman Adventures" - at least that's what Boomerang is calling it. Don't confuse it with the more recent 1990s block of "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Superman: The Animated Series". This is a bit more special and vintage than that. But it isn't Superman.

Boomerang will be showing four consecutive hours of the 1968 animated Batman series from Filmation which aired as part of the "The Batman/Superman Hour" on CBS. Given how Boomerang uses the Filmation 'toons to fill in time after its other regular fare like "JLU" (which air with limited commercial interruption on Boomerang, thus the extra time), I would not be surprised if a Superman, Superboy, or Justice League of America Filmation 'toon showed up during the festivities.

“Comics Now!” Magazine Celebrates 70 Years of Superman

Ape has published issue #3 of "Comics Now!" magazine, which features a salute to Superman's 70th anniversary year.

The issue features Superman Now!, a lengthy article on the history of the character by Adam Murdough and an article by Joe Sergi titled Man and Superman, about the history of the Superman/Superboy copyright lawsuits. The issue also features an original Superman cover by Ryan Stegman.

Metro Newspaper columnist Andrew Williams recently conducted an interview with Kristen Kreuk on her work on "Smallville" as well as her blossuming movie career in such films as "Partition" and "Street Fighter: The Legend on Chin-Li". Here's an excerpt:

Metro: You shot the film "Partition" in India. Did you have a spiritual experience?

Kreuk: No. I only had two weeks off doing Smallville to shoot this film so I worked the whole time. I had one day off to go to see the Golden Temple.

I went back the following Christmas to travel properly. I went from Delhi through Kerala up to Mumbai. I love the people and the culture. I’m allergic to a lot of the food, though.

Metro: It feels like you’ve been on Smallville since time began. Aren’t you sick of it?

Kreuk: I’m only in five episodes in the new season. I finish up my storyline and I’ve moved on. I’ve been doing Smallville since I was 18 so it’s been my whole adult life.

Metro: Why did you want to leave?
Kreuk: I love the people and it’s a wonderful show to work on but I realised there were things I couldn’t do due to the schedule on Smallville. Lana has changed so much since the first season so she was always fun to play. I just wanted to try something else. It’s not that I was bored with the show.

Metro: You’re in the new Street Fighter film – how are your martial arts skills?

Kreuk: Pretty decent. I did karate, dance and gymnastics when I was growing up so I was good at the wire work for the fight scenes. I spent five weeks training with stunt coordinators. I don’t know if I could kick your a** if we met on the street but I’m decent at looking like I’m good at fighting.

Starry Constellation Magazine writer Lisa Steinberg recently conducted an interview with Smallville Season 8 newcomer Sam Witwer on his role as Davis Bloom/Doomsday. Here's an excerpt:

Steinberg: What can you tell us is new this season on "Smallville" and about your character Davis?
Witwer: They have some really interesting, fun stuff planned. Davis Bloom is this Metropolis paramedic who is this really, really nice guy. He's a little bit moody because he's this perpetual outsider who was raised in the foster care system and was bounced from home to home. He's a really good guy and he can be a little bit moody and not terribly talkative at times but a very, very cool person. Chloe sort of recognizes that this is someone of her interest and they strike up a fast friendship. The problem is that Davis is having these blackouts and as they happen more and more frequently he becomes curious about what is happening during these blackout periods. He tries to figure out and unravel this mystery and what he finds out is really not so great. What's fun about that whole storyline is pretty much the how, it's not nearly as straight forward as that, we're going to be having a lot of fun with that. When I say fun, hopefully fun for the audience, not as much fun for the character Davis Bloom. What would it be like for you found out you were the exact opposite of everything you ever tried to be in life. Basically the fun, if you could use that word, is to create this character and as we get to know him slowly take him apart and drag him through the mud a little bit. Certainly the fun of it as an actor is the challenge. The word fun will enter into it as we get into the darker aspects which are psychologically draining as an actor. It's cool that we get to play both extremes with this character.
Steinberg: Davis does eventually become Doomsday, did you have any reservation about taking on such a well known comic book character?
Witwer: Yeah, some, comic book fans, Sci-Fi fans, these are people who have a very specific taste and then there are always the vocal ones that don't like what you do no matter what. I feel like I am prepared for that and I've done enough work in that entire arena to be prepared for whatever may come as a result. I'm here to do as I am told, I am here to do as good a job as I can and interpret as well as I can. Hopefully people like it, I'd love it if people liked it.

TVGuideFirst things first: How many episodes do we have you for this season?
Erica DuranceAll I know is I'm doing more than my 13, but they wont tell me how many yet.
TVGNow that we're doing Lois and Clark at the "Daily Planet," do you feel as if, more than ever, all eyes are on you?
EDI would go crazy if I felt deeply that way. I would go insane! But what I do feel, because we're moving more towards that mythos, is that I have a lot more to do in each episode.
I'm more involved, Lois is finding herself more, and she definitely is becoming that journalist that everyone loves.
She's brushing shoulders with Clark a lot, so we have a lot of fun interplay.
She'll go to investigate something, thinking that she's the one solving the problem, and meanwhile he's speeding around saving her a lot. It's quite funny.
TVGObviously it's a very important turn that the show is taking. Have you and Tom Welling sat down to discuss how you're going to approach it?
EDThe way it works, and it happened when I first came to the show, is you come together with your cast members and the producers and go over the flavor of what's happening with your story. And every year, I'm on the periphery but I grow a little bit. When this year came around and it became clear where they wanted to take things, yeah, it was discussed. We take it very seriously, to make sure that we're doing it justice and making these characters lovable. The big flag I'm waving all the time is to make sure that Lois is intelligent and fun and lovable so that the audience will like the fact that Clark likes her, instead of going...
TVGAt the "Daily Planet," will we see Lois and Clark more as partners or as rivals?
EDYou get a little bit of both. That's what's been fun about the relationship, these moments where they're going head-to-head and then pull together when they have to, when the stakes are really high. Those moments where one of them goes, "You know what, you did do a good job." And the writers have been really good this year dropping little bombs of, "Oh my god, do they really love each other? Does she really love him?" There's a lot of that.
TVGOK... What about talk that Clark will offer Lois a place to stay at the Kent farm?
EDYes. Yes, he does offer her a place to stay, and she's avoiding the issue right now. There's a lot of things that happen in the scenes I'm doing where you definitely see that she is in love with Clark. She's doesn't want him to know, but she does realize her real feelings for him. She just doesn't know what to do with them. And they're going to build on that. But we're only on Episode 5, so I don't know what's in the great future.

IGN.com recently visited the set of Smallville and sat down with Aaron Ashmore to find out where Jimmy Olsen figures into the story this year. Here's an excerpt:

IGN: Two years ago, you were the new guy. Now, do you find yourself giving the newest cast members, like Sam Witwer ["Davis Bloome"] and Cassidy Freeman ["Tess Mercer"] info if they have questions?
Aaron Ashmore: Yeah, kind of, but Allison [Mack] said something to me the other day. She was talking about something [from an earlier season] and I said, "Oh, I wasn't here." She's just like, "…Oh yeah! You've only been around for a couple of years!" It's that thing where it all melds together and I don't feel like I can lead everyone around and be like, "So look, this is how this works!" It's not so much that, but it's cool to have new people come in and it's great energy. It's fun to have new people to play with, so it's cool.
IGN: Last we saw, you'd just proposed and then your possible fiancé was dragged away in front of you for some big legal issues. So that begs two questions – what's going on with a potential marriage and also what's going on with Chloe's legal woes?
AA: Well, it's amazing how legal situations, if you have an in, you can just get somebody to sneak you out of that. So, that plays out how it's going to – it's a plot point and I don't want to give anything away too much. But the marriage thing, yeah, we're going towards a marriage, which is very exciting and kind of fun, because I'm 28 years old and nowhere near ready to get married and not in that position at all. So it's kind of interesting to just be going through this stuff. Like, they're having an engagement party and all these kind of things that lead up to a marriage. So it's actually kind of an interesting spot to be at. But there are some kinks along the road, so we'll see. I'm still curious, are we gonna get to the marriage? There's bound to be some things that are gonna pop up and stuff, so I'm curious to see how it plays out myself.
IGN: Can you talk a bit about some of the episodes and storylines you're involved with as we begin Season 8?
AA: Well, a lot of it is revolving around the marriage and that idea of the lead up to that. There's a great episode called "Committed" and I don't want to give too much away, but basically Chloe and Jimmy get kidnapped by this psychopath and locked in a basement. He hooks them up to these electric chairs and he basically is so obsessed with truth and commitment and faith to the other person that you're going to settle down with for the rest of your life. He sets up this test where if you're lying, he's going to kill you. So the way to get out of this is to be truthful and not be lying. Don't have secrets; not cheating. So there's this amazing set up as to are they right for each other? Can they end up together? The secrets that they both have, is that going to destroy them? That to me is a great episode.
There's a little bit of development with going after stories. Davis Bloome helps Jimmy out on a ride along in an ambulance, trying to track down this killer that's totally demolishing Metropolis. It's kind of cool how they can incorporate things and everybody kind of bumps into each other and helps each other out.
